WordPress help & fixes

WordPress help and fixes when your website isn't working.

Errors, broken pages, a slow website or a contact form that has stopped sending. Tell us what's happening and we'll find the cause, explain it in plain English and fix it properly.

We tell you what's wrong and what it costs before we fix anything.

Common problems

WordPress problems we fix.

If your problem isn't listed, send it anyway. Most WordPress problems have a clear cause once someone looks properly.

Errors and blank pages

"There has been a critical error", a white screen, or a page that won't load at all.

How we help

We find what caused it, fix it, and check nothing else was affected.

A slow website

Pages take too long to load, especially on phones, and visitors give up.

How we help

We find what's slowing it down and fix it, without changing how your website looks.

Broken after an update

WordPress, a theme or a plugin updated and something stopped working.

How we help

We repair the conflict and make future updates safer.

Forms not arriving

People fill in your contact form, but the emails never reach you.

How we help

We fix the sending set-up and test it properly, so enquiries reliably arrive.

Broken on mobile

Text overlapping, menus not opening or buttons too small on phones.

How we help

We correct the layout and test it on different screen sizes.

Strange content or warnings

Spam links, unexpected redirects or a browser warning about your website.

How we help

We clean it up, close the gap that let it happen, and tell you what to change.

Slow website?

What we check when a WordPress website is slow.

Speed problems usually have several small causes rather than one big one. These are the places we look first.

Images

Large photos are the most common cause. We resize and compress them, and use modern formats, without them looking worse.

Plugins

Too many plugins, or a few heavy ones, slow every page. We find which ones cost the most and suggest what to remove or replace.

Page builders and theme

Some themes and page builders load far more code than a page needs. We trim what we can and tell you honestly if a rebuild would be better.

Caching

Caching lets pages load without being rebuilt for every visitor. We set it up properly and make sure it does not break forms or shops.

Hosting

Sometimes the server itself is the bottleneck. We'll tell you plainly if your hosting is holding you back, and what the options are.

Database and scripts

Old data, unused scripts and third-party code build up over time. We clean them up so pages have less to load.

How it works

How a fix works.

Simple, in writing, and without surprises. You'll always know what happens next.

  1. 1

    Tell us

Describe what's wrong, with a screenshot if you can, and send your website address.

  2. 2

    We look

With temporary access to your website, we make a backup first, then find the cause.

  3. 3

    Agree

We explain the problem in plain English and tell you the price before we change anything.

  4. 4

    We fix it

We fix the problem and test it properly, including the things around it.

  5. 5

    Then you pay

You check it's working. Once you're happy, you pay. We remove our access if you'd like.

Price & payment

You pay once it's fixed.

We look first, then tell you in writing what's wrong, what we'll do and what it will cost. You decide whether to go ahead. When it's fixed and you've checked it, you pay.

A backup before we touch anything. So nothing is lost, whatever happens.

Price agreed before work starts. No hourly meter running in the background.

No fix, no charge. If we can't fix it, you don't pay for the fix.

What we'll need from you
  • Your website address
  • A short description of what's wrong
  • Temporary admin access to WordPress
  • Hosting access, if the problem needs it

Tell us a little about what you need and we'll reply by email with an honest idea of what's involved, before you commit to anything.

More about us
Questions

Things people usually ask.

If your question isn't here, just send us a message. A few lines is enough.

Ask us a question
Can you fix a website someone else built?

Usually, yes. Most of our fixes are on websites built by someone else. We look first and tell you plainly what we found before agreeing to anything.

Do I need a maintenance plan for a one-off fix?

No. You can ask us for a single fix. If you'd like ongoing care afterwards, that's optional.

Will you need my password?

We'll ask you to create a temporary admin account for us, rather than sharing your own password. You can delete it as soon as the work is done.

What if you can't fix it?

Then you don't pay for the fix. We'll explain what we found and what your options are, so the time isn't wasted.

Will speeding up my website change how it looks?

No. Speed work happens behind the scenes. If a change would affect the design, we'll tell you first and only do it if you agree.

How quickly can you start?

We'll tell you when we can start and how long it will take when you get in touch. Urgent problems, such as a website that's completely down, are looked at first.

Let's talk

Tell us what's happening with your website.

Describe it in your own words. You don't need to know exactly what you need. We'll reply by email with an honest view of what would help.
